Rend Lake Resort Improvements

Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center is nestled on Rend Lake’s waterside in Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park.  The Resort is considered a premier destination for recreationists, families, and business groups.  Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy their natural surroundings with the abundance of activities that are offered, including boating, fishing, horseback riding and picnicking.  Resort amenities include banquet facilities, conferences rooms and a fine dining restaurant. Lodging options include Botels, cabins and a hotel complex.

Various upgrades are needed throughout the resort to provide a superior experience to overnight guests and visitors.  Improvements include a new Botel Building overlooking the water, and major renovations to the interior and exterior of all duplex cabins.  A new, more prominent entrance will be construction onto the existing hotel building along with other improvements, such as interior finishes and new HVAC units.  The restaurant deck will be expanded to accommodate additional waterfront dining and restrooms will be upgraded.  In addition, there will be interior upgrades to the existing conference center.

Oates provided project management, surveying, civil engineering, and structural engineering.  The survey of the 40-acre site involved the preparation of a detailed digital map to be used by the design teams of all lodging, conference, and support facilities showing all improvements including buildings, parking lots and roadways, drainage features, and recreation facilities.
