Possum Hollow over a tributary to the Meramec River is a functionally obsolete and unsafe bridge. Oates is replacing the structure with a precast prestressed concrete deck beam bridge. The roadway is being widened to accommodate two travel lanes. Oates’ services include survey; hydraulic analysis and design; bridge design; right-of-way plans; and preliminary and final plan preparation, specs, and estimates. A hydraulic survey was completed by Oates and used to develop a HEC RAS model to determine the appropriate size of the bridge. The hydraulic analysis and the local terrain were used to determine the appropriate size of the new bridge.
