The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis is a place for research and training with the mission to improve human health and preserve our environment. The campus includes laboratories, growth chambers, greenhouses and support facilities. Oates Associates prepared a full set of permit documents for the expansion of two greenhouses at the Center as well as the addition of four new greenhouses. The design is based on as-built drawings for the original eight greenhouses that were constructed in 2013, which are one-story glass and steel structures. Oates provided structural engineering services.
