The Lincoln Trail Shopping District is the busiest retail development in the Metro East region. Wanting to create a more distinct streetscape and safer corridor, the City of Fairview Heights embarked on a multi-phase revitalization. Oates Associates helped improve traffic operations and circulation within the development for Phase 1, which is along Market Place.
Phase 1 improvements were considered for an American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois Engineering Excellence Award. The project was awarded a Merit Award in the Small Projects category and subsequently won the Judges Choice Award, which recognizes the judges’ favorite project in each category.
