Enclave West Traffic Study + Intersection

Enclave West is a private housing development that sits on a 17-acre site in Edwardsville, Illinois. The development, which features apartment complexes, a swimming pool, a fitness center and volleyball courts, brings more housing options to students who attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Oates completed a traffic impact study to address the traffic impacts of the new development. As part of the impact analysis, Oates estimated traffic volume and movement distribution to and from the development. We reviewed traffic signal and turn-lane warrants, traffic operations, intersection sight distance, and proposed intersection geometry.

Subsequently, Oates designed improvements, including widening New Poag Road and Northwest University Drive and constructing a new approach at the Northwest University Drive intersection with a new traffic signal system.
