Cougar Village consists of 62 apartments that were covered with shingles as the primary waterproofing element on the roofs. An extensive evaluation of these roofs and the roof ventilation systems were conducted. The results of this report identified that the existing roof systems should be replaced in their entirety. The report also identified that the existing attic space ventilation was inadequate and should be changed to provide proper attic space ventilation. Roofs on all 62 apartments were removed and replaced. The project also included the removal and replacement of damaged gutter and downspouts and associated metal edge details, new exhaust fan metal and screened covers, new lead flashing for soil stacks, ridge vents along the entire ridge on occupied space elevations and soffit vent openings.
