McKelvey Woods Court provides access to McKelvey Woods Park and Dogport Dog Park. The asphalt roadway had deteriorated and was in need of repair. Further, there were no pedestrian facilities and no defined drainage paths for storm water runoff.
To provide improved access and safety for motorists and pedestrians, the City of Maryland Heights contracted Oates Associates to design roadway, pedestrian and drainage improvements. The project included reconstructing the existing pavement with wider lanes and adding sidewalks with accessible curb ramps. Inlets and storm water management facilities were installed to collect storm water.
