Damiansville Elementary School District #62 was in dire need of space to accommodate enrollment and future projected growth. The district’s facilities include a main building, which houses classrooms, a cafeteria, a computer lab, library and an administration office, plus two “temporary” classroom buildings that were constructed in the 1960s.
To provide a learning environment that encourages educational exploration, fosters growth and provides a safe haven for students, the district selected Oates Associates to design an 8-classroom addition. The addition complements the existing main building, is fully accessible, and provides direct connections between the main building and the existing gymnasium.
Oates Associates provided architectural, civil and structural services.
